About

Welcome! I'm Glad You're Here.

Meet your host, Diana Whiteheart, a certified trauma informed life coach with a passion for helping women through the mess of difficult family relationships.

Hey there! I'm Diana Whiteheart. I'm a wife, mom, middle aged woman, and pseudo empty nester. I'm also a certified and trauma informed life coach with a passion for helping women heal their hearts, lives, and souls in the face of difficult family relationships.

Like many others in this season of life, I've been through some hard stuff over the years. I've lived all sides of estrangement as a mom, a daughter, and a daughter-in-law. Additionally, my family has also dealt with significant trauma of all kinds. We've been through toxic and dysfunctional family relationships, attachment trauma, adoption trauma, medical trauma, and more.

I've learned more about mental health, healing and recovery, and emotional safety than I dreamed possible. Now I use all I’ve learned to help other hurting women untangle the mess, climb out of the trenches, heal through the hard stuff, create new healthy relationship habits, and build a life of freedom and peace they long for.

The journey isn't always pretty, but it is worth it. I'm all about giving ourselves and others grace as we muddle through this often messy middle of life and find peace, contentment, reconnection, and joy in this new chapter of life!

What I Believe...

  • We are meant to be happy and to have joy in our lives.

  • Happiness is an inside job. It comes from inside ourselves, not an external source, relationship, or accomplishment.

  • Your best years are ahead of you, not behind you.

  • Every woman has the right to her own passions, dreams, and voice.

  • Broken family relationships do not determine our success, worthiness, or worth

  • None of us were meant to do this alone. Healing and growth happen through connection, not isolation.

A Bit More About Me

Just for fun, I’ve added a few bits of trivia (many of which are also answers to frequently asked questions) to help you learn even more about me, what I do, and why I do it.

Fun Facts About Me

  • I love the ocean and the beach, but I don’t like heat and I live in a desert.

  • I'm not a dog person, but we do have a pair of Russian tortoises.

  • I love taking pictures of beautiful places and things, and I love being in places where I can take those pictures.

  • I live in Utah. The answer is yes, and I love people and Jesus with all of my heart.

About My Family

  • My husband and I met on a blind date over 30 years ago. I avoided him for two weeks,  then we dated seriously for two weeks, and we were married three months later.

  • We were blessed with one “miracle baby” who joined us the old-fashioned way after five years of trying. We adopted two boys from Eastern Europe eight years later. What a ride it has been!

  • Both my boys came to us with a severe trauma history and have struggled greatly with issues related to attachment, early childhood trauma, and prenatal substance exposure.

  • All three of our kids have ADHD and learning disabilities.

  • Our daughter was in a “minor” auto/bike accident in 2018 that left her with a debilitating chronic pain condition. She’s now doing life as an amputee.

What I Do and Why I Do It

  • I help midlife women untangle toxic family dynamics, heal from relationship trauma, reconnect with themselves and their purpose, and rebuild a life rooted in peace and confidence instead of pain.

  • My work helps women understand the undercurrent of hidden trauma, dysfunctional generational patterns and cycles, make sense of what’s happened, see why what they’ve been doing hasn’t been working, and stop blaming themselves for the family breakdown and conflict.

  • I am not a licensed mental health professional and don’t offer any kind of therapy, diagnosis, treatment program, or therapeutic intervention.

  • Our family was wildly failed by the mental health system as we were raising our children. Many, many professionals “said” they could help, but very few actually know enough about complex trauma and dysfunctional family relationships to successfully facilitate healing (and often made things much worse instead of better.)

  • I'm not okay watching families shatter because they can't people who know how help them. I'm even less okay watching countless women shouldering the burdens of difficult family relationships and dymanics because that's what they've been conditioned to do.

  • Life coaching was the best way for me to get involved and be part of the solution. I received my life coaching certification in 2015. I have since completed several additional coaching certifications specifically related to relationships, families, and trauma.
